Dear Sean,
Hello, and sorry to bother you.
I used your "trick" below to download a video from google. Well, an AVI file downloaded, 11 MB or so, but it doesn't play in any of my players (I tried several, including Pinnacle Studio 9). The Windows Media Player says it's missing some codecs... (well, you never know with Microsoft, anything could be missing...).
The problem can't be due to the file itself... it plays allright on the google player. Any clues?
For your information, please find attached the original gvp file. The URL I originally used to get there and download it is http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7110703835241279117&q=Kim+Phuc+Vietnam&hl=en
Thanks in advance for your help,
Haris

Haris,
The Codec and Player you need is Divx . I downloaded The gvp file and the avi and tested it it works fine so I am attaching Codec and Player and the avi and notepad file. The only other problem you could have is your downloaded avi is corrupt but install Divx and open file in Divx Player not Windows Media player and it should work fine. Divx player pack Download http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/download/index.php
